So I have had this printer setup for many years. I have an old MacPro 3,1 that I upgraded to El Cap(Yes, I KNOW you are not suppose to do that!) and now I have a MacPro 6,1. Currently running Sierra. My complaint is that since I have installed Sierra, my printer has become almost useless. This is an HP 1212nf Multifunction Printer that is approximately 3 years old. Now there are a couple of things that I pretty much have to keep the 3,1 up and running because the new OS printer paradigm does not support them. This last upgrade has now broken things so much that I am not able to cheat and use the old driver.
1) I use to be able to print duplex with a single click. Nope not anymore. That option has been removed. I am now in the process of trying to see if I can get duplex correctly, I have to print the odd pages, then print the even pages and reverse the things.
I could tolerate this but FFS the printing is SOOOOO slow. I have not tried to print a normal set but if it is this slow. I will leave my 3,1 as a server and print from that.
2) I use to be able to scan documents right out of the driver system setup. HPs scanning application is so broken that even if I get it up, running, and talking to the scanner, which takes a fresh reboot. It will scan but not save anything or even display the file. It runs though the motions.

Ooooo Maybe I will get my document. If you detect a note of anger and frustration. It is because what use to take me less than a minute to print out and organize now is taking me 10-15 minutes. Please explain why these funcitons no longer work? Mac Pro (Late 2013), macOS Sierra (10.12.4), HP M1212nf.
